The grins on their faces aren’t just because they were excited to leave school campus during lunch hour, but these members of the local Pipestone FFA chapter are excited to be receiving a generous donation from Pipestone Veterinary Services (PVS). Dr. Barry Kerkaert was proud to present the $7,000 check to Pipestone FFA President Shantel Raatz and other chapter leaders. PVS has a long history of supporting FFA, and it all stems back to the veterinarians themselves participating in FFA when they were growing up. “I was proud to wear the blue jacket, and it’s nice to see that tradition continue in our community. It’s important as a vet clinic that we invest in the future of the industry we work in. And personally knowing a lot of these kids, the future is looking bright!” said Dr. Kerkaert. The donation will come in handy as the chapter is planning their projects for 2015.
